The textile industry has driven Ontinyent's economy for centuries, especially the making of blankets and fabrics, so much so that the town is known as the Capital of the Valencian Textile Industry. The Museu del Tèxtil de la Comunitat Valenciana (Textile Museum of the Valencian Community), housed in the old Manuel Revert factory, tells this story and makes it accessible to everyone.
What you can see
Over 70 pieces, from the 18th century to the present day, in three sections:
- The instruments used in the production process.
- The making, with the looms on display.
- The fabrics, the end result of the process.
It is a must-see to understand the identity of Ontinyent and the whole Vall d'Albaida.
