Parking in Ontinyent: blue zone and free car parks

Blue zone hours and prices, the biggest free car parks, where to leave the car for the Pou Clar or during the festivals, and what to do if you come in a motorhome.

Parking in Ontinyent is easy once you know where to look. The town centre has a blue zone (pay and display, with a time limit), but there are large free car parks just a few minutes' walk away. And on Sundays and public holidays the blue zone is free.

Blue zone: hours and prices

The blue zone (known locally as the ORA) covers the most central shopping streets.

When you have to pay:

  • Monday to Friday: 9:00 to 13:30 and 16:30 to 20:00.
  • Saturdays: 9:00 to 13:30.
  • Sundays and public holidays (national, regional and local): free.

Outside those hours parking is free: for example, on weekdays from 13:30 to 16:30 and after 20:00, and on Saturday afternoons.

Visitor rates:

  • 26 minutes (minimum): €0.30

  • 1 hour: €0.65

  • 2 hours (maximum): €1.30

  • You can stay up to 2 hours.

  • Pay at the parking meter or by phone with the Telpark app. If you pay by phone you don't need to leave a ticket in the car, and you can extend your time without going back (the app may add a small fee).

  • Residents of the regulated streets get a resident rate; the permit is issued at the ORA office.

The exact streets are shown on the official blue zone map.

ORA office: Parking Sant Jaume, Carrer Ravalet, s/n. Phone +34 962 38 25 25. Open Monday to Friday 9:00 to 13:30 and 16:30 to 20:00, and Saturdays 9:00 to 13:30. If you get a blue zone ticket, they will explain there and on oraontinyent.com how and by when you can cancel it.

Free car parks

  • Avinguda d'Albaida (Sant Josep district): a free public car park with 150 spaces, opened in April 2026, about 120 metres from the Avinguda Martínez Valls shopping area.
  • Former Gutiérrez Fité site (Camí Vell de Xàtiva): a large free open-air car park south of the Sant Josep district.
  • Plaça de la Concepció: the Town Council is planning a 175-space car park next to the new Camí Vell de Xàtiva bridge (at project stage in 2026).

From these car parks the centre is a short walk away. You can also take the town bus, which is free: timetables and routes on the Town Council website.

Visiting the Vila

The Vila old town has narrow, steep streets and almost nowhere to park. It's best to leave the car down below and walk up from Plaça de Baix or the Pont Vell: it's a short, pretty walk.

Going to the Pou Clar

In July and August the road to the Pou Clar is closed to cars: park at the Municipal Sports Centre (Poliesportiu) and walk or, at weekends, take the free shuttle bus. The rest of the year there is parking next to the site. All the details are in the Pou Clar guide.

During the Moors and Christians and big festivals

During the Setmana Gran of the Moors and Christians festival in August, many central streets are closed. The Town Council opens nearly 3,000 free spaces at the entrances to town, such as the former Gutiérrez Fité site, the Sant Francesc car park, the Corba del Salvador area (Avinguda de València), La Concepción school, the Firal fairground and Avinguda de la Generalitat.

The advice is always the same: park on the outskirts and walk in. More in the Moors and Christians 2027 guide.

Coming by motorhome

Ontinyent has no motorhome service area and no campsite near the town. You can use the large car parks on the outskirts, such as Avinguda d'Albaida or the former Gutiérrez Fité site, to visit the town. Remember that parking is allowed, camping is not: no awnings, tables or chairs outside the vehicle.

Driving an electric car?

All the charging points, with their power and location, are listed in EV charging points in Ontinyent. And every car park and service is on the Ontinyent map.
